Danyelle

"Slow down...I don't think you know what you are doing," he screamed as they turned the corner with sqealing tires!

"Shut up fucker," was all he could say as he glared out the windshield.

The phone had started to ring about two hours ago, but neither of them had bothered to answer it. They had had a long day and were glad just to be laying in bed, relaxing in each others arms. They had an answering machine so it didn't matter to much to either of them if they didn't answer. However, they had forgotten they had turned to volume down on the answering machine. Like I said, all they cared about was to be at home...finally.

Rafael got up to get something to drink and relieve himself in the process. He noticed the answering machine blinking, telling him that there was a message waiting. They should have never put it next to the kitchen, it always annoyed him to see that damn light blinking. He tried to ignore it while he was getting his glass out of the cupboard, even getting his water. But, unfortunately, he just couldn't ignore it anymore...he had to listen.

"I am sorry to call so late," came a females voice, "but this was the only number that was local in the phone that we found. You see I am a nurse at the hospital and we have a young lady here that is unconscious at the moment."

"STEPHEN," Rafael screamed before he realized what he was doing.

Stephen, who had been asleep, came stumbling out of their bedroom, trying to pull up his pajama bottoms. He had no clue what was going on, or why Rafael started to scream the way he had...he just freaked.

"What the fuck is going on," he muttered, "why the fuck are you screaming like that?"

Rafael played back the message on their answering machine. As it neared an end he just looked at Stephen, all the color had drained from his face. They both knew who the phone call was about, it could have only been one person. I mean who else, but her, would have their number as the only local number in her phone. But had she really come here, she wouldn't, would she.

"Don't tell me to shut up," Rafael cried, "I am just as worried as you are. But killing us isn't going to undo whatever is waiting for us!"

Stephen just clenched his fists tighter and tighter to the stearing wheel. He though, if he happened to let go, he would punch Rafael. Not that he wanted to hurt him, he was just the only one there to hit at the moment. The rain had begun to pour about three miles back, so his driving was increasingly unstable. What did he care, right, just as long as he got to the fucking hospital. ...

They managed to arrive at the hospital in one piece, though it wasn't easy. Rafael finally managed to talk Stephen into slowing down his car...but couldn't get him to drive any safer. If you had seen them you would have thought NASCAR was loose in the city. When they arrived at the hospital they didn't bother to park the car, just pulled right up to the door. Rafael who was the first of them out of the car, almost knocked himself out trying to run through the door. Stephen caught him as he stumbled backwards, shoving him through the, now open, door. They didn't see the maintanence man standing there, and almost ran right over him. He started cussing at them, but they didn't even hear what he was saying. As they reached the Receptionist's desk they stopped. What if it wasn't her, would they look like a bunch of idiots running up there like this.

"Hi there, how can I help you this evening gentlemen," the receptionist asked in a sweet, soft, voice?

"Yes, well...ummm," Stephen didn't know where to start.

"I think you have someone here that we know," Rafael began softly, "there was a message left on our machine by a nurse about a young lady being admited here sometime this evening."

"Let me check, hold on please," she said while picking up the phone.

About five minutes went by while she played phone tag with several departments.

"Yes thank you," she finally said as she hung up the phone. "gentlemen, one of the nurses asked me to send you to her station. If you will please take the elevator to the fifth floor, take a right, and then your first left. There will be a nurse there waiting for you, her name is Kirstin."

"Thank you," Rafael stammered as Stephen pulled his arm and broke into a run again.

"Can't you calm down and stop rushing, your going to have me bruised completely by the end of the night."

"Sorry," Stephen whispered.

"I know your worried, so am I. But we have to try to calm down." Rafael said as he pulled Stephen into his arms and held him as they rode to the fifth floor.

When they got off the elevator they took the right as they were told. Rafael happened to notice that the sign stated that the ICU was to the right. He noticed the sign again, when they took their first left, stated they were going to the ICU.

"Oh fucking Christ," he thought to himself, "what the fuck is happening. I haven't been here in almost six years."

Stephen noticed that Rafael had slowed his pace and turned around to see why. Rafael was looking into one of the doorways and breathing as though he had just run in a marathon. Not thinking about it Stephen grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the door, he thought is was just nerves. They came to the Nurses Station and halted, the nurse was standing there with a grim look on her face.

"Are you Stephen and Rafael," she asked the boys?

"Ye...yes...yes we are," Stephen said in a hushed voice.

"I am sorry to bother you at this hour, but I think you may be able to help me. You see, we admitted this young lady earlier this evening, and she didn't have any identification on her person. Nobody bothered to look in ALL of the pockets of her purse, or I am sure they would have found her phone. While we were admitting her I noticed the bulge in one of the smaller pockets and thought I would look, it wound up being the phone that had your number in it. I thought I would call the most frequently called number, but it was long distance...I can't call somebody out of state and tell them about something like this. So I began going through the phonebook, and your number was the only number that was even in this state."

"Can we see this young lady," Rafael asked.

"Yes but I warn you, it's not going to be the best sight. She was brought in in pretty bad shape."

"Do you know what happened?"

"We have a pretty good idea."

"Can you tell us?"

"Well they completed a SAFE Kit when she came in, the results haven't been released to us yet. But it appears that she was attacked by someone downtown."

"What is a SAFE Kit," Rafael asked, "I have never heard that before."

"It's a Rape Kit, it appears that she was raped during her attack. There was some bleeding when she came in, though most of her injuries are external."

"Just shut up and let me see her," Stephen said, losing his patience.

When they walked into the room all they saw was he swollen face, but there was no longer any doubt...it was her. Stephen began to collapse when he saw her, he made his way over to a chair before doing so.

"Do you know this young woman sir?"

"Yes we do," Rafael replied.

"We need her name and some other information, whenever you are ready I will be out at the desk," the nurse said as she left the two boys in the room.

"Should I do it, or do you want to," Rafael said as he turned to Stephen, who was still sitting in the chair shaking.

"I...I...I...," was all Stephen could say.

Rafael left Stephen in the room and made his way to the Nurses Station. He knew that he should stay with Stephen but the nurse needed to know who she was. Though he didn't see the nurse at the moment, he figured she had to attend to other patients. He wandered down the hall until he was at 'that' room. He let the memories flood over him again...along with the chills that came with them. He didn't see the nurse, or here her, when she returned and started walking towards him. He didn't realize that she was right next to him until she grabbed his arm.

"Sir," she whispered as she put her hand on his arm, making him jump, "sorry sir but I really need to get that young ladies information."

"Oh...uh...yeah...coming," he said as he calmed himself down and pulled himself back to reality.

"What was her name?"

"Danyelle, D-a-n-y-e-l-l-e."

"Age?"

"16 years old, but don't ask me her birth date."

"Where was she from?"

"Kansas...Chetopa, Kansas."

"Relationship to you and your partner?"

"Daughter!"

"Oh...sir, I am so sorry."

"We didn't raise her, Stephen and I donated our sperm to a lesbian couple in Chetopa who posted an add online, about wanting a child. They sent us photos and when Danyelle was old enough they told her about us and gave her our number. That's why she had it in her phone, though I don't know what she was doing here, she never told us she was coming. My god what is happening...I still can't understand all of this."

"Why don't you go back in and be with your family, if I need anything else I will come and talk to you later, okay."

"Thank you."

When he got back to the room Stephen had moved the chair to the bedside. He was holding Danyelle's hand and sobbing, he body trembling with each sob. Rafael walked up to him and put his hand on his shoulder, making him jump. Stephen just looked up at him with tear stained eyes and shook his head. He couldn't understand all of this either, nor did he think that he wanted to. How could this have happened, her coming to town, being attacked, and now in the ICU? He wanted to know who did this to their daughter, who could attack and violate such innocence? When he found out who it was he would make them feel the same pain, the same agony, the same fear.

"What are we going to do," he asked Rafael.

"What we always do sweety, survive and be strong."

"I guess we should have taught her that. What the FUCK was she doing here in the first place, why the hell didn't she call us and tell us she was coming?"

"I don't know."

Danyelle whimpered softly, the first noise she had made since they had arrived at the hospital. They both just looked at each other and then back at her, waiting hopefully. Her eyes began to flicker and Rafael went to grab the nurse. By the time that he, and the nurse, returned Danyelle's eyes were fully opened but she still hadn't said anything. She seemed to just be staring at the ceiling, dazed and trying to focus on her surroundings. She slowly, cringing in pain, began to move herself so that she could sit. The nurse reached out to help her adjust her body comfortably, but when the nurse touched her the most frightening thing that the boys had seen took place. Danyelle's face contorted in agony and she let out a blood curdling scream. The nurse let go and jumped back about five feet with one jump, her face had lost all color and she was shaking. She immediately left the room, almost knocking herself out on the door jam in the process. Danyelle was still screaming as though she were in agony, nothing was making her calm down at the moment. So Rafael closed the door and they just let her scream as long as she wanted to. After about five minutes her screams turned into exhausted sobs, then slowly subsided into moans. The boys didn't know what to do so they each just sat by her side and slowly took each of her hands in theirs. She resisted at first, but then she slowly let her hands slip into the warmth of their hands. Stephen was the first to break the silence, startling Rafael when he did.

"It's okay darling, we are here with you now, no one else is going to hurt you."

"That's right sugar, no one is going to get to you now," Rafael agreed.

"Th…th…th…th…they wouldn't listen…they just wouldn't listen. I told them that I would go with them, that I had my own ride…..but they wouldn't listen to me…they just kept telling me it wasn't safe outside…………….it was so dark, and I got scared," she sobbed as she started talking.

At this point the nurse had come back in with a sedative for Danyelle. But she stopped in the doorway when she her the young girl talking.

"What happened," Rafael asked her.

"First I saw the lights," she began. She was still groggy and was still under the influence on whatever sedative they had given her, "they confused me, I thought they had passed….but when I turned around they were right behind me. I thought something had happened in the store I had passed, but they came right for me. They told me that I was too young to be out in that part of town, that it was dangerous for me to be there. I told them that I had someone coming to get me, that I was fine and didn't need a ride. They kept bugging me to let them take me where I was going, to insure my safety. One of them walked passed me so that he was behind me, I couldn't see what he was doing. But the one if front of me began to smile, I got so scared when he smiled……I turned around and tried to walk away, but he hit……the one behind me hit me with something. As I fell to the ground I felt the sharp sting…like sticking your finger in a light socket……..he had his tazer in his hand. They picked me up, telling me that they had told me it wasn't safe for me to be there, and put me in their car."

Stephen couldn't take it anymore, he thought he was going to be sick. What was she telling them, that two policemen had done this to her. He didn't know what to think, he knew most of the police in this district, he worked with them all. How could one of these men do something like this to a little girl, if they had done it to her, how many others where there?

"I don't know how long we drove, it seemed like forever. They had me handcuffed to the back seat so that I could not move without feeling horrible pain. When the car stopped they got me out of the car and the one started hitting me again. I just let myself go limp, hoping that if he thought I was knocked out he would stop……..he didn't……..he forced……………for…………forced my mouth open with a nightstick. When he had my mouth open I heard his pants unzip and felt him trying to shove his penis into my mouth."

Danyelle began to sob uncontrolably at this point, her body began to shake violently. The nurse who had been in the doorway turned and left the room, she couldn't believe what she just heard. When she returned she was followed by a doctor, who had told her just to stand in the background for the time being.

"Ma'am, I am Doctor Basset. My nurse is ready to give you a sedative if you feel that you need it."

"No…I need to finish telling you what happened," Danyelle whispered through sobs, "when the officer shoved his penis in my mouth I bit down as hard as I could……I can still taste his fucking blood in my throat…….and I didn't let go, not for my life would I let go……..then the other one kicked me in the back of the head. That's when I went unconscious."

Danyelle then asked the nurse if the sedative was still there, all she wanted to do was try to forget what happened to her. After the nurse gave her the sedative the doctor tried to talk to Stephen and Rafael, but neither of them were paying attention to him at the moment. He left the room and told the nurse to page him when they were ready, she nodded and remained in the room. Kirstin stood there looking at this young girl in shock, she new the story like the back of her hand. Danyelle wasn't the first girl to go through this very same attack, there was another girl about six years ago who had gone through it. Kirstin hunched over and began to vomit uncontrolably, even after all the bile had been extracted from her stomache. Stephen was the first to notice that she was still there, and went over to help her up. Rafael was quickly at her side when he realized what was going on.

"What is the matter Kirsten," Rafael asked the nurse."No….nothing…I….I…I am so sorry."

"Nothing doesn't make you vomit like that young lady," Stephen replied, "there is something wrong."

"It's just…I…I know your daughters story," Kirstin said as she began sobbing.

"What are you saying, are you implying that my daughter is lying….are you calling our daughter a liar bitch," Stephen began raising his voice.

"NO…I…I…I know her story because I lived it about six years ago. I can still feel the sting she spoke of when the officer shot me with his tazer. They were never caught, nor the case persued, because they were police officers…no one would listen to me."

Kirstin turned and ran out of the room sobbing hysterically. Rafael just turned at stared at Stephen, who looked like he had just seen a ghost. Neither one of them spoke as they walked back to Danyelle's bedside. Stephen sat down on the couch that was by the window, and Rafael curled up into his arms and just began to sob. The doctor came back into the room and asked to speak to them privately…he had something to tell them. They both rose slowly, what else were they going to hear tonight? They began to, hesitatingly, follow the doctor to a small office located just down the hall from their daughters room. There was a file sitting open on his desk with Danyelle's name written on it and highlighted. Rafael noticed that, sticking out from underneath, was a file with the name Kirstin written on it as well. The doctor took his seat and began to speak very slowly.

"About six years ago I heard a case frightenly similar to your daughters. The victim in that case was the nurse who is caring for Danyelle. She was attacked by two policemen in the same area of town that your daughter was in. The case was never officially reported or investigated, when Kirstin told them that a police officer was involved they closed the case and did not go any further with it. But with your daughter I think it may be different. Her rape kit gave us the DNA evidence to take this to a judge, if she will let us."

"Your damn fucking right we are going to a judge," Stephen retorted.

"I think that with this new evidence we can catch the two people involved, but we need your daughter to do something for us first. She needs to identify the two police officers who attacked her. We are going to have Kirstin do the same thing, is she is up to it."

"Let me talk to her if you don't mind," Rafael said softly.

"By all means please do."

"Stephen can you finish here?"

"Yeah."

Rafael left the room and went to find Kirstin. He knew he could talk to her about what happened better then anyone else could at the moment. He dealt with the same thing about six years ago, that's why he hated this hospital, and that room.

"Doctor, who does the DNA pin point as my daughter's attacker," Stephen asked when Rafael left the room.

"We have the names of the two people that the DNA indicates, but we can't release that right now."

"You don't understand, I am a District Attorney here in the city."

"I am sorry, but you will have to wait Stephen, I know it's hard but that's how it has to be."

Rafael found Kirstin sitting on the stairs, still trying to control her sobs. He sat down beside her and slipped his arm around her shoulder. As he did this she let her head fall on his chest and kept crying. He knew he needed to tell her what had happened to him six years ago, he just didn't know where to start.

"Six years ago I was admitted into room 507 for a short time. I thought I could forget that day and make it go away, never have to see this place again. But when I walked in all those memories came back to me like they happened just yesterday. I remember opening my eyes and seeing all the blood, feeling the incredible pain throughout my body. I remember it all…but you know what else I remember, what hurts even more. I remember the girl in the room next door to me, she couldn't stop screaming and crying, no one could get her to calm down. I remember sitting outside her door singing softly so that she had to stop crying to hear the song. For a week I sat outside that door doing nothing but singing to that young girl. I remember the day that they told me to go back to my room, I thought the screams would never end that night. But they wouldn't let me out of my room to sing again, and the next day they let me go home. I remember the night before I left they led the girl next door away from her room…I can still see her shaking and fighting as they led her down the hall. The next morning before they told me I could go home I just stood outside that room, room 509, and stared in wondering what happened to make someone hurt so much."

Kirstin jumped when he said the room number. She couldn't get that song out of her head, she sang it now all the time. She never got to meet the person who sang it to her, never got to thank them.

"Kirstin they need you to remember that night, to look at those two men and identify them. Do you think that you can do that. I know it's a lot to ask you but you need to be able to do it, be able to be strong."

"It was you, you sang to me when I was in that room?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because you were scared…and no one knew what else to do."

"Thank you Rafael…you have no idea what you did for me.""Will you?"

"Huh?"

"Will you identify the two men that attacked you?"

"Yes!"

There was a lawer waiting in Danyelle's room when Rafael and Kirstin returned. He had a large book of pictures in his lap, all of the police officers currently employed by the city. Rafael recognized the lawyer from Stephen's office but couldn't remember his name. He and Kirstin sat down on either side of the gentleman, and he handed Kirstin the book of photos. She started shaking and couldn't seem to figure out how to open the book. Rafael began to sing softly, which cause Stephen to perk up as he had never heard Rafael sing before. When he started singing Kirstin's breathing slowed and she opened the book. She flipped through the first few pages before stopping, when she stopped she mentally marked the page and continued until she saw the second officer. She handed the book back to the lawyer and told him the page numbers, and the names. As the lawyer looked at the pictures he wrote down the names of the two officers and looked at Stephen. Stephen just looked tired and began to slowly nod, he had heard the names before. The two policemen had been involved in several cases that went uninvestigated as of late.

"What's going on," Danyelle said groggly, startling everyone.

"Nothing, we need you to look at some photos and identify the two men that attacked you last night," Stephen spoke slowly.

"Okay, just give me a little bit."

"Don't worry, we can wait until you are ready," the lawyer said, "Stephen I am going to call the office and get things sorted out over there."

Stephen just nodded his head, he still couldn't believe this was happening. But here he was, sitting in the hospital with his daughter. Rafael had taken the logical side and tried to keep everyone calm, that's why he loved him…he could always do that no matter what was happening. He smiled at Rafael, who was still singing to Kirstin to keep her calm. Why had he never sung before, his voice was so soothing? He turned his attention to Danyelle, who was just looking at Rafael and listening to his voice. She appeared to be looking at something other then the people in front of her, but Stephen couldn't be sure. Then, when she spoke, the whole room jumped with a start.

"That fucking store, someone has to go back to the fucking store with me!!!"

"What are you talking about," Rafael asked.

"That store, the one I was in front of, the man working there came out. I remember, it didn't register until just now what that noise was, he came out of his store during the attack. He was yelling at the one officer to get away from his store. I remember looking up and seeing a fucking camera. You have to take me back to that store."

Stephen didn't think this was a good idea at all, for one he was thinking logically. Rafael, on the other hand, told Danyelle that they would take her to the store if she could remember where it was. Kirstin agreed to come along and moniter her health. The lawyer from Stephen's office said he would call the judge and get a warrant for the release of the video footage from the night before. And with that they all left the hospital, headed for that store.

Danyelle knew exactly where it was and was able to direct them right to it. As she got out of the car she stopped, took a deep breath and laughed. The others just looked at her, as though she had gone crazy, but she just laughed some more and headed to the store. As they walked in the lawyer got a call and he smiled as he hung up. Danyelle approached the clerk and asked to speak with the manager. A small, stocky, elderly man came out from the back of the store. When he saw Danyelle standing there he dropped the crate that he was carrying and began to cry.

"I am so sorry I couldn't stop them ma'am, but they would have run me out of this place. I can't afford to leave, how would I support my family if that happened? But I did try, they just wouldn't listen."

"It's okay sir, but I need you to do something for me," Danyelle replied to him, "I need you to identify those two men, and give us the video footage from that camera outside your store."

"Yes, yes, anything if it helps you get those two men off these streets. I have watched them terrorize this neighbourhood too long."

Armed with three positive ID's, video footage, and the DNA evidence from Danyelle's rape kit Stephen and the lawyer went to the DA's office as the others went back to Rafael and Stephen's house. Stephen would have gone with them but he wanted to see this thing through. The others just wanted to rest, so Rafael suggested they go to their place instead of the hospital. Kirstin and Danyelle both thought that that was a great idea, Danyelle had seen enough of the hospital.

When they arrived at Rafael and Stephen's house the girls collapsed on the couch. Rafael went into the kitchen to make coffee and tea. As he reached for the tea he saw that damned answering machine again, only this time it wasn't blinking or anything. All the same it pissed him off and he tore it off the wall, ripping the cord out in the process, and threw it as hard as he could against the wall. He heard Danyelle scream as the answering machine hit the wall, but he couldn't move. His anger had finally take hold and glued him to where he now stood.

"Excuse me, but what the fuck was that you little shit," Kirstin said as she smacked him on the back of the head.

"I…ummmm…I don't know, I guess I just wasn't thinking."

"You think?"

Stephen stormed into the DA's office in a huff, demanding to see the DA that was being assigned to his daughters case. He and the lawyer were led to a large office and told to go inside. As they went inside they were greeted by Stephen's boss, who had taken the case on himself. The lawyer set down all the evidence, the photos, and the video on his boss's desk and sat down. Stephen just stood their looking dumbfounded, he had never known his boss to assign himself a case like this before.

"Stephen, please sit down," the older gentleman asked.

"Oh…um….yeah, sorry. So have we got enough to convict the two bastards?"

"Well I think we do, but we are going to have to prove it to a judge and then to a jury. You realize that you are up against to policemen and no one wants to try the police force. Are you sure you want to go through with this, to put your daughter through this?"

"She is willing to testify, you have her statement in front of you."

"Okay, well let's arrest them and present this to the judge. I believe that both of these officers are working this evening. We will have them arrested right way. How is she Stephen, the report I got this morning didn't sound good."

"She's better, at home with Rafael now."

"Good…better then the hospital I would imagine."

The two officers were arrested and charged, initially, with two counts of rape with intent to commit homicide. The judge heard the case and let it go to trial, against his better judgement. He would later, after his retirement, tell reporters that after looking at the evidence, and video, he wanted to just lock them up for life. When presented with the DNA evidence and video footage of Danyelle's attack the jury was siding with the DA. When the news of the case hit local media people in the community were stunned. But what's more is the aftermath of the media flurry, they had 15 more young women come forward and testify that these two men had attacked them. One of the officers was even asked to leave to court room, with the jury, to a private office so that he could remove his trousers. It seems that Danyelle wasn't the only one that bit him durning her attack.

The trial lasted all of a week before the jury deliberated. When they returned they looked haggard, all of them seemed to have tried pulling their hair out. They turned their verdict over to the judge who looked at it and nodded. As the Baliff returned the verdict back to the selected juror he asked the accused to please stand up. As the two officers stood one of them chuckled, much to the disgust of the courtroom. The judge then asked the jury to read it's verdict.

"We, the jury, find the defendant, Joesef Brady, guilty of 17 counts of aggrivated assualt, guilty or 17 counts of sexual misconduct, 17 counts of attempted homicide, 17 counts of human endangerment, and 17 counts of moral misconduct."

"And the verdict for the second defendant please?"

"We, the jury, find the defendant, Caleb Mandebaum, guilty of 17 counts of aggrivated assualt, guilty or 17 counts of sexual misconduct, 17 counts of attempted homicide, 17 counts of human endangerment, and 17 counts of moral misconduct."

"Thank you."

The two police officers became outraged and began to curse at the jurors. The judge had them escorted out of the courtroom while they dicussed a sentencing hearing. The date for their sentencing was set for the following day, which gave Stephen just enough time to do what he wanted. He approached the judge after the trial and asked to speak with him in his chambers. As they entered the judges chambers Stephen felt very nervous about what he was going to propose, but he had to do it. The two of them say down and waited, it was the judge who spoke first.

"What did you want to talk about Stephen?"

"Well…it's just…I wanted to ask you something sir. I know it's immoral to ask this but I have no choice, these men attacked my daughter and all those other daughters. I want to set them up once they are in prison. I want to tell the prisoners what they did and who they are, specifically the biggest most aggressive inmates there. I want them to hurt the way that all those women were hurt your honor."

"Stephen I am shocked by what I am hearing, do you realize what you are asking me to do?"

"Yes, I do…and I will see it happen with or without your help."

"That won't be neccesary Stephen, trust me…but you just let this one go, you don't need to concern yourself with it anymore."

The following day the sentence was announced for the two police officers. They were to receive 17 consecutive life sentences, with no chance of parole. Stephen, Rafael, Danyelle, Kirstin, and the others let out a huge sigh of relief when this was announced. Kirstin started crying and Danyelle slipped out of Rafaels hug, he didn't noticed he was so happy. They didn't realize what was happening until they heard the screaming and the laughing. Danyelle had walked over to where the two men were being led out of the courtroom and said something to one of them. As she spoke he broke free from his detainer and rushed her. She reacted by lunging her foot into his groin and laughing hysterically as he crumbled to the ground.

"I will learn to cope with my scars, but you will have to look at yours everytime you see your dick…everytime you play with it you will remember my face as it is right now, you will never forget me."

The media never covered that portion of the trial. They just edited it out, but there was something they did cover. They covered it quite well actually, until the day that there was no more to cover.

"Ex-policeman found raped and severly beaten after being sentenced to life in prison."

"Ex-policeman found sodomized and beaten in prison shower."

Headlines like this showed up all over the media for several weeks after the conviction and sentencing of Caleb and Joesef. It seems that everytime they turned around they were being assaulted by inmates, and no one seemed to see or hear a thing. Then one day the last headline apeard on the front page of every newspaper in the country:

"Two ex-policemen found sodomized, beaten, and dead in their cell!"Two ex-policemen, who were convicted on 17 counts of rape, were found dead in their cell this morning. It appears that they had beensodomized, beaten, tortured, and murdered. The position of the bodies when they were found is very pornographic. One of the ex-officers had his genitalia removed and forced down his throat. Theother had his genitalia placed in the before-mentioned victim's anus. There are still no witnesses to the crimes, no one can seem to recallseeing or hearing anything in the hours prior to the discovery.
